Dundurn Castle

This is one of Hamilton’s best recognised landmarks and lures tourists from all corners of the world. Dundurn Castle—a National historic site, illustrates the time and life of Sir Allan Napier MacNab, who made his mark in the period 1798–1862. Lesser than a castle and more akin to a stately home, this still-impressive structure was founded in the year 1835.This enchanting monument features tours, year-round programs, an on-site military museum and a restaurant.
