While in Tauranga, you can't afford to miss the Tauranga Art Gallery, which offers a never ending spree of historic and contemporary art. Along with playing host to a permanent collection of exhibits, it is also an interesting venue for visiting and frequently changing local exhibitions.
Tauranga Art Gallery, the very first public art gallery located in the Western Bay of Plenty, stands stoic in the corner of Wharf and Willow Streets. This building has designed to cater to all modern day art gallery standards and was opened for public viewing on Saturday 20th October, 2007. Exhibitions are organised in house by the gallery's staff and presents a balanced mix of artist projects and exhibitions from other institutions. Housed in a former bank, The Tauranga Art Gallery boasts of an ambient atmosphere and oodles of space.
If you are avid art lover and have an hour in hand, head towards its grounds and mezzanine galleries or stop to take a peep into the video cube-you will not be disappointed. Go for car rental services in Tauranga to visit the gallery and the city's many other attractions.
