Wellington, apart from harbouring numerous beaches and spectacular hills, is also notable for its cultural scene. It is a place which serves as the epicenter of events throughout the year.

This year, the World of Wearable Art or WOW as it has become internationally renowned, celebrates its 25th anniversary. For an independent arts organisation in a country as small as New Zealand, 25 years of completion is a huge achievement. I have been lucky enough to witness the exhibition once in my lifetime. Te Papa is marking the quarter-centennial anniversary of the WOW Awards with The WOW Factor, an exhibition in the Eyelights Gallery in August 2013. Both sides of the gallery would be used throughout the exhibition. The first half would be used to display almost 30 garments from the history of the WearableArt Award! The other half of the spectrum would be a fascinating, previously covert collection of sketches, notes, miniature prop and video footage behind the creation of the WOW Awards Show. The exhibition would be open throughout the next 12 months with a range of public programmes, kick-started with an inspiring illustrated talk by the founder of the WOW Awards. With literally so much on offer, I plan on attending this monumental 25th year celebration with a close friend of mine.
Thanks to the car hire agencies in Wellington, all our travel logistics are taken care of. Availing car hire services in Wellington would allow me to explore the city at my own pace and convenience. It would also allow me to drive down to my favourite destinations without worrying about public transport. Renting a car also saves the hassle of hiring private cabs and taxis, which otherwise charge a fortune. Car rentals are perfect if you want to stop for photo-ops while driving down the picturesque locations here.
