Volcanic Landscapes Lure You to The Bay of Plenty

The Bay of Plenty—a unique travel destination that hosts some of the most amazing volcanic attractions of New Zealand is known for its great beaches, thermal spas, notable cities, inland lakes and of course,  some of the most interesting volcanic formations in the world.

Your car rental will help you experience the city of Rotorua and its various sightseeing interests. Located in close proximity to Auckland and some active volcanic regions of Waimangu, Waiotapu, Whakarewarewa, Hidden Valley  and Hell's Gate; these parts of southern hemisphere offer great experiences of mud pools, fumaroles, geysers, thermal rivers, hot springs and volcanic terraces alike.

As you explore Rotorua, you will get used to a steady flow of steam rising from its grounds. The resorts in the area are tapping these natural bounties to create thermal baths and provide eco-friendly ways of generating electricity. Here, you will come across volcanic vents in the most unusual places. So, stop and gape at the heat rising in properties, lakes, on roads and even on the tee-offs of golf courses.

There are many natural attractions and lakes in the region too. Formed through years of volcanic activity, the water bodies and lowlands of Rotorua are popular for swimming, fishing and several water based activities. This is also an important place for understanding and experiencing the richness of the indigenous Maori culture.

Tauranga, located on the coast of the Bay of Plenty is another popular place to visit. Known for its spectacular beaches and warm climate , it is surely worth a visit—along with Mt Maunganui, White Island and Mt. Tarawera!
