Located in the northernmost region of New Zealand, Whangarei is the regional capital of the Northland. A panoramic view aside, the hike to the top is also worth taking. A walk through the native forest and exploring the still existent excavations are the added incentives to a beautiful spot. Also, the Parahaki Scenic Reserve is not to be missed. Among other attractions at Whangarei, the Clapham's Clock Museum stands out. The biggest collection of time pieces in the entire southern hemisphere is truly a remarkable achievement, and deserves to be seen.
