Located in Auckland, New Zealand, this custom built theatre distinctive boasts of an interesting foyer packaged with twisted columns, seated Buddhas and ceilings with specially crafted domes in place. Its doors were first flung open to the public on 20 December 1929. However, it was only in the year 2000 that people started thronging to this outdoor an auditorium even at night - for viewing their favourite icons under the twinkling stars. One of the main highlights of its main forum is its Moorish type architectural structure: with minarets, spires, turrets and tiled roofs.
An amazing brainchild of Tomas O'Brien, Civic Theatre was established as a stoic movie empire way back in the 1920s. Atmospheric Cinema was first introduced by him in 1928, when he flung wide the doors of Dunedin's 'Empire De Luxe' to the public. Erected by Fletcher Constructions, the final price tag of his project amassed a whooping figure of $200,000.
Take a look at this inspiring structure by driving to the venue in a comfortable hired car in Auckland. You will not be disappointed with its inspiring beauty and marvelous architectural wonders. So, catch up with your favourite stars this holiday season -under the skies of Auckland.
