Spook out Your Halloween Celebrations, Italian Style!

Italy is full of beautiful historic monuments. People are drawn towards Italy because of its rich art & culture, cuisine and fashion. The scenic beauty comprising of a beautiful coastline, beaches and mountains is out of the world. There are more world heritage sites in Italy as compared to any other part of the world.

If you are planning your holiday to Italy any time during the last quarter, try to make it during the Halloween season. You’ll have the time of your life in Corinaldo, the Halloween capital.Though there are only two official holidays on the 1st and 2nd of November for Halloween, the season begins much earlier with costume party planning, costumes and other accessories being put up for sale and people gearing up for the grand celebrations.

If you want to see the action at various places, the best way to do so is to get a car rental in Italy as soon as you arrive.

The Religious Significance
Halloween is celebrated in honor of the dear departed of the family. It is called “Ognissanti” or “Tutti i Santi” or All Saints Day and “Il Giorno dei Morti” which literally means the day of the dead. Every family prepares a special cake called the “beans of the dead” and leaves it standing on the table along with other food while they go to church. They believe that the departed members of the family visit the home and partake of the food whilst they’re away.

The Celebrations
The religious significance of Halloween is fading out gradually. Youngsters are less concerned with ceremonies and more interested in the “festa” or party. Children dress up in weird costumes and go from door to door asking “Trick or Treat?” There are exciting offers and celebratory events in amusement parks and public places during the last half of October.

Urban Trekking for All Saints Eve
Urban trekking is a special event consisting of All Saints Eve walks for everyone. These include visits to crypts, castles, dungeons and medieval towers that are held throughout the day.
Whenever you plan your visit, make sure to book your car rental for Italy in advance. This will help you visit all the sights comfortably and save time. There are many car rentals available at reasonable prices.
